A space that’s entirely yours. Individual therapy offers room to explore what’s weighing on you, understand yourself more deeply, and create meaningful change with a therapist who sees, supports, and affirms the whole you.
Relationships can be complicated. We help partners communicate more openly, navigate conflict, deepen intimacy, and better understand each other while honoring the identities, experiences, and relationship structures that make your connection uniquely yours.
Families are complex, and every family looks different. We help families strengthen communication, navigate conflict and change, better understand one another, and build healthier connections while making space for each person’s identity, needs, and experiences.
Ready to turn insight into action? Coaching offers practical, goal-focused support to help you get clear on what you want, navigate what’s getting in the way, and take meaningful steps toward a life that feels more aligned with who you are.
You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Our supervision and consultation services give clinicians a supportive space to strengthen their skills, navigate complex cases, build confidence, and grow into the therapist they want to be.
Learning should feel engaging, relevant, and practical. Our trainings and educational offerings give therapists, organizations, and communities practical tools to deepen their understanding, build confidence, and create more affirming spaces for the people they serve.
We’re a team of therapists who believe you deserve a space where you can show up exactly as you are. At Queer Sober Therapy, we bring warmth, humor, curiosity, and real connection into the therapy room while helping you build a life that feels genuinely yours.
Get In Touch With Us
Got questions? We’ve got answers.
Here are a few things you might want to know before getting started.
How do I know if QST is right for me?
You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out. QST works with people navigating all kinds of things, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, identity, life transitions, substance use, sobriety, and simply feeling stuck or disconnected from themselves. We specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and communities, but you do not have to identify as queer or sober to work with us. More than anything, we're committed to creating a space where you can show up as your full self without judgment.
Do I have to be sober to come to QST?
Not at all! Despite the name, sobriety is never a requirement for working with us. We recognize that everyone's relationship with substances is different. Whether you're sober, sober-curious, practicing harm reduction, questioning your use, returning to use after a period of sobriety, or not interested in changing your substance use at all, we'll meet you where you are. Our job isn't to tell you what your relationship with substances should look like. It's to help you explore what feels right for you.
Do I have to be LGBTQIA+ to work with QST?
Nope! QST was created with queer communities at its heart, but our doors are open to people of all identities. We believe everyone deserves affirming, culturally responsive care and a therapist who takes the time to understand who they are.
Do you offer virtual or in-person therapy?
Yes! We offer telehealth throughout Illinois, and select clinicians offer in-person appointments in Andersonville, Chicago and Oak Park. Availability varies by therapist, so reach out and we'll help you find an option that works for you.
How do I get started?
Reach out through our contact form and tell us a little about what you're looking for. We'll help you find a therapist whose specialties, personality, availability, and payment options fit your needs.
Taking the first step looks different for everyone. Whether you’re ready to start therapy or just want to learn more about Queer Sober Therapy, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out and someone from our team will be in touch soon.
